Joel Malia, a 32-year-old man, went missing on May 27, 2002, in Sea Isle City, New Jersey. Joel, along with his two brothers, Jeffrey and James Malia, were involved in a tragic boating accident during Memorial Day weekend. The three brothers were on board their high-performance speedboat, a Douglas Skater Catamaran, when it flipped off the 78th Street Beach in Sea Isle City. The boat, which had been recently purchased, was traveling at high speed, possibly over 80 mph, when it crashed.
