George Wright Bugher, a 38-year-old businessman from Elizabeth, New Jersey, was last seen on July 8, 1964. Bugher, who owned Hand Hardware Store, was facing financial difficulties at the time of his disappearance. On the day he vanished, he told his wife over the phone that he would be late because he had a meeting with two men to discuss refinancing the business. He was last seen by his business associates around 7:00 p.m. that evening.
