In the early summer of 2005, a 42-year-old mother named Pamela Fay Kuich disappeared from Pierce County, Washington, leaving behind a series of troubling questions. The last time anyone is known to have seen her was on Sunday, June 19, 2005. On that Father's Day, Pamela, her boyfriend Robert Dalton Tucksen, and her two-year-old son attended a family gathering at a relative's home in the Roy area. At the time, Pamela was living a transient life with her boyfriend and young child, moving between area motels, shelters, and sometimes camping in the woods in the Roy and Spanaway areas. She was described as a white female, 5'1" tall, weighing around 140 pounds, with blonde hair and brown eyes, and a distinctive cleft palate. The day after the family gathering, the circumstances of her disappearance took a deeply concerning turn. On the afternoon of Monday, June 20, 2005, Pamela’s two-year-old son was found alone in an outdoor stairwell at the Parkland First Baptist Church. He was discovered with a cheeseburger and a cup of water; though dirty and sunburned, he was otherwise unharmed. There was no sign of his mother, Pamela, in the vicinity of the church, and no one has reported seeing or hearing from her since that day. Three days later, law enforcement located her boyfriend, Robert Tucksen, and arrested him for an unrelated probation violation. When questioned about Pamela’s whereabouts and why their son was abandoned, Tucksen claimed they had argued a few days prior, and that she had left with the child. He denied knowing that she was missing or that their son had been found alone. The investigation into Pamela Kuich's disappearance has been fraught with difficulty, yielding few clues as to what happened to her. At the time she vanished, she had no car, no job, and no money. While her boyfriend suggested she had a history of leaving for short periods, her family, particularly her mother, insisted she was a devoted parent who would never have voluntarily abandoned her son. Investigators have long feared that Pamela may have been a victim of foul play. The case grew colder over the years, compounded by her boyfriend's subsequent legal troubles, including a later arrest for the murder of an acquaintance in 2010. The search for Pamela has left her loved ones without answers, and her disappearance is an unresolved case marked by the heartbreaking discovery of her young son and the silence that followed.
