Giovanni Gonzalez-Colon, a 5-year-old boy from Lynn, Massachusetts, was last seen on August 15, 2008. His mother, Daisy Colon, dropped him off for a weekend visitation with his father, Ernesto Gonzalez. Giovanni was carrying a Transformers backpack and was last seen wearing a red t-shirt, blue jeans, and Spiderman sandals. Over the weekend, Daisy tried to contact Ernesto but received no response.
When she arrived to pick up Giovanni on Sunday, Ernesto claimed not to know about the visit and said he hadn't seen Giovanni.
Despite Ernesto's denial, witnesses at a local behavioral clinic reported seeing Giovanni with his father on August 16. Ernesto’s neighbors also heard a child's voice coming from his apartment later that day. When authorities searched Ernesto’s apartment, they found Giovanni's toys but no sign of his backpack or clothes. Shortly after, Ernesto was arrested and charged with child endangerment, though the charge was later dropped and replaced with parental kidnapping and misleading police.
In November 2008, Ernesto confessed to Giovanni's murder, claiming to have dismembered his son's body and disposed of it in various trash bins around Lynn. However, authorities found no physical evidence in his apartment to support this confession and expressed doubts about its truth. To this day, Giovanni's whereabouts remain unknown, and his mother believes he is still alive, possibly taken to Puerto Rico, where both parents have family ties. The case remains open and unsolved, with Giovanni still classified as a missing person.Last Seen: Aug 15, 2008
