In the winter of 2008, a 3-year-old boy named Quamere Rogers, affectionately known as Quatti, vanished from Syracuse, New York. Officially, he was last seen on December 1, 2008, though some accounts suggest he was last seen in late November of that year. At the time of his disappearance, Quamere was approximately 2 feet 5 inches tall and weighed around 30 pounds. He was last known to be in the company of an adult male relative. The circumstances surrounding the young boy's disappearance are complex and have led authorities to suspect foul play. The investigation into Quamere's whereabouts has been fraught with conflicting stories and troubling details. His mother, who was a teenager when he was born, had left her abusive relationship with her boyfriend, Damion Davis, in 2006 and had not seen her son since. Despite this, she falsely reported to the Department of Social Services that Quamere was living with her. When questioned by police in July 2009, Davis claimed that in July 2007, he had given the child to a man named Yusef Ben Ali in Brooklyn, New York, who was supposedly a member of the United Nation of Moors, also known as the Nuwaubians. Davis alleged the group would care for the boy. However, authorities cast doubt on this story as Quamere was seen in Syracuse nearly a year and a half after Davis claimed to have given him away. Further complicating matters, DNA testing in September 2011 revealed that Davis was not Quamere's biological father. Over the years, the case has grown cold, though it remains officially classified as an endangered missing person case. Investigators, however, have stated they are treating it as a homicide. Damion Davis was convicted of rape in April 2012 for his relationship with Quamere's underage mother and sentenced to prison. While he has been a central figure in the investigation, no charges have been filed in direct relation to Quamere's disappearance. The lack of resolution has left a void in the lives of those who knew the little boy with the nickname Quatti. Without a body or any definitive evidence of his fate, the case remains an unsolved and heartbreaking mystery, a somber reminder of a young life that seemingly vanished without a trace.
