Mickey James Guidry, a 16-year-old from San Marcos, California, was last seen on November 26, 2009. On November 25, he took his parents' Jeep Grand Cherokee without permission and headed to Anza Borrego State Park to camp with friends. After leaving the campsite on November 27, he was never heard from again. His Jeep was found abandoned the following day in a remote part of the desert, eight miles from the nearest paved road.
The vehicle was damaged, stuck in the sand, and contained many of Mickey's personal belongings, including his wallet and clothes.
Despite extensive searches, no trace of Mickey was found near the vehicle, and he has remained missing since. Authorities initially considered him a runaway, as he had a history of taking vehicles without permission. However, his family grew increasingly concerned, believing that something may have happened to him after he left the campsite.
There have been few clues in the years since his disappearance. In December 2022, some hikers found sun-bleached clothing, believed to belong to Mickey, in the area where his Jeep was abandoned.
