Karen Jean Lee, a 15-year-old girl, was last seen on May 26, 1977, in Cornelius, Oregon. She disappeared just two days after her friend, 14-year-old Rodney Grissom, went missing. The two teenagers had plans to hitchhike to California and were last heard from when Karen made a phone call to a relative from a payphone in Lebanon, Oregon. During the call, she said, "Our ride is here. I have to go," and neither she nor Rodney were heard from again.
