In the late summer of 1978, in Gastonia, North Carolina, a 36-year-old man named Joe Everette Ragan was living his life. On September 3rd of that year, he was seen for the last time at his residence in the 400 block of Gray Street. At the time of his disappearance, he was described as a white male with brown, balding hair and blue eyes, standing at 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing around 180 pounds.
