Wilson Jay Mickler was last seen on March 1, 1979, in St. Augustine, Florida, when he was 22 years old. On the night of his disappearance, he was reportedly at the Green Door bar located off State Road 16 around 9:00 p.m. Witnesses noted that he left the establishment but did not return home, raising immediate concerns among his family and friends.
