Paul Douglas Cappo, age 29, was last seen on June 10, 1980, in Kansas City, Missouri. On the morning of his disappearance, he left home driving a dark blue 1977 Plymouth with damage to the front fender, intending to meet with some "bad people," as he described it to his wife. Cappo, who had connections to organized crime, was en route to Las Vegas, Nevada, where he frequently traveled to gamble. At the time, he was deeply in debt, owing at least $75,000 in gambling-related losses.
