Steven Wayne Hatch, a 19-year-old from Clayton, New York, disappeared on December 24, 1980, under mysterious circumstances. That evening, Hatch was working as an attendant at Smalls Gas Station on Wellesley Island, near the Thousand Island Bridge. He was last seen by three Canadian travelers, who reported speaking with him before watching him head to a nearby residence behind the station. Soon after, Hatch vanished, leaving the gas station’s lights on and the phone off the hook.
