Deborah Ann Dubs, aged 33, disappeared on July 25, 1984, from her San Francisco apartment, along with her husband Harvey and their 16-month-old son Sean. Deborah was pregnant at the time of her disappearance. The family was last seen after a man responded to an ad Harvey had placed for selling video equipment. Deborah ended a phone conversation with a friend to attend to two men who arrived at their home. The family has never been seen again.
Authorities later linked the disappearance of the Dubs family to serial killers Leonard Lake and Charles Ng, who were active in the area during the mid-1980s. A neighbor reported seeing an Asian man carrying a box from the Dubs' apartment on the day of their disappearance, and the next day, an unidentified vehicle was observed leaving their residence. Investigators believe the family was abducted and murdered by Lake and Ng at Lake's secluded property, where they had set up a base for criminal activities, including the torture and killing of multiple victims.
Despite extensive investigations and the discovery of evidence linked to the Dubs family at Lake's property, including a receipt in Harvey’s name, the bodies of Deborah, Harvey, and Sean have never been recovered.
