Summary based on the NamUs case record (MP9353) and 5 other sources

Mary Colette Rawlinson, age 19, was last seen on October 30, 1985, in San Diego, California. At the time of her disappearance, she was staying at the Stage Coach Motel with a male companion. She left her belongings behind and told him she would be right back, but she never returned and has not been heard from since. Rawlinson, who went by the alias Rita Elizabeth Price, had tattoos including a flower bracelet on her wrist and the words "Coneja Crazy Gangsta" around her ankle. She also had a cross tattooed on her hand.

Her disappearance occurred during a disturbing period in the mid-1980s, when more than 40 women, many involved in prostitution or drug use, were murdered in the San Diego area. Rawlinson’s own roommate was found murdered and decapitated nine months after her disappearance, raising suspicions about possible connections. Despite this, her case remains unsolved and it is unclear if it is linked to the other murders in the region.

Investigators continue to treat her case as an endangered missing person, and anyone with information is encouraged to contact the San Diego Police Department.
