At the time of her disappearance, Bellafiore was described as a white female, standing between 5 feet 2 inches and 5 feet 5 inches tall, and weighing between 120 and 140 pounds. She has gray or partially gray hair and blue eyes. Authorities also noted that she may have been using a walker. The San Diego County Sheriff's Department is the investigating agency for her case.

This was not the first time Bellafiore had been reported missing. In July 2016, at the age of 66, she disappeared after leaving a medical center in the Hillcrest area of San Diego. During that incident, it was reported that she had undisclosed mental health conditions for which she was prescribed medication and did not have access to a vehicle or know how to use public transportation.
