Davis Samuel Cortez Jr., aged 27, was last seen between 12:30 and 1:00 a.m. on April 15, 2000, at the Lihue Plantation sugar cane processing plant where he worked in Lihue, Hawaii. Cortez was employed as a night-shift worker, responsible for oiling and maintaining equipment at the plantation. On the night of his disappearance, Cortez left his belongings in the break room, including his keys, street clothes, and a snack, but he was nowhere to be found.
