Pauline Lorraine Klumpp, age 51, disappeared on July 2, 1988, in Port Arthur, Texas. She was last seen visiting a rental property she owned, where her tenants were living—one of whom was Roy Melanson, a convicted criminal with a history of violent crimes against women. On the day of her disappearance, Klumpp went to the property to collect a television set and reportedly asked Melanson to help her fix an air conditioner.
