Steven Earl Applegate, a 17-year-old high school senior from Plattsmouth, Nebraska, disappeared on February 8, 2010. He was last seen near the Missouri River toll bridge on U.S. Highway 34. Witnesses reported that he exited his car and jumped into the river. Despite an extensive search of the area, Steven's body has never been recovered.

At the time of his disappearance, Steven was an honors student at Plattsmouth High School, actively involved in extracurricular activities, and taking college courses at Metropolitan Community College in Omaha. His family and law enforcement believe his disappearance to be the result of suicide, although his body has not been found, leaving many unanswered questions.

Steven was last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt, blue jeans, and black sneakers. His case remains classified as a "lost/injured missing" person, and authorities continue to search for answers to bring closure to his family.
