Reina Mendez Marroquin, age 44, was last seen shortly after midnight on January 1, 2011, in Fort Pierce, Florida. She had just finished work at a local Kentucky Fried Chicken and was seen leaving with Rene Jose Marroquin, her daughter's estranged husband or boyfriend. Reina, who was not related to Rene despite sharing the same last name, relied on him for transportation to and from work. According to reports, Reina wanted Rene out of her life due to his history of violent behavior towards her.
