John Gilbert Farfan, age 50, went missing on February 22, 2011, after walking away from a care facility in Santa Rosa, California. Farfan, who was under the care of the facility, had not been seen or heard from after leaving. His disappearance led to a prolonged search, but no immediate answers were found regarding his whereabouts.
In December 2013, partial human remains were discovered in a creek bed within Shiloh Ranch Regional Park, located in Sonoma County.
These remains were later identified as belonging to Farfan in May 2015. However, the cause and circumstances of his death remain under investigation, and no conclusive details have been publicly released.
