On September 9, 1957, 15-year-old Gerald Montrio and his best friend, Robert Rasmussen, disappeared from Plymouth, Massachusetts. The boys left their homes around 3:00 p.m. to go swimming in Massachusetts Bay. Later that day, their clothing was found neatly folded on Flat Rock by Plymouth Harbor, leading authorities to believe the boys had drowned. However, their bodies were never recovered despite extensive searches, including efforts by the U.S. Coast Guard.
