William Henry Forshee Sr., age 47, disappeared on April 16, 1973, during an overnight fishing trip from Miami, Florida, to Marco Island. He was accompanied by his 17-year-old son, William Jr., and two other men, Minni (or Benny) Gaskins and DeWitt Lewis. The group set out in an 18-foot outboard boat but never returned. The boat trailer and their truck, a green 1969 Ford F100, were found abandoned at Captain's Landing Marina on Marco Island, but the boat and the men were never located.
At the time of his disappearance, William Sr. had distinctive physical traits, including a missing right eye and a right leg that was shorter due to a prior accident. Despite extensive searches, no traces of the men or their boat have ever been found. The case remains unsolved, and authorities have listed it as a "lost/injured missing" case.
