William Henry Forshee Sr., age 47, disappeared on April 16, 1973, during an overnight fishing trip from Miami, Florida, to Marco Island. He was accompanied by his 17-year-old son, William Jr., and two other men, Minni (or Benny) Gaskins and DeWitt Lewis. The group set out in an 18-foot outboard boat but never returned. The boat trailer and their truck, a green 1969 Ford F100, were found abandoned at Captain's Landing Marina on Marco Island, but the boat and the men were never located.
