Carlene Brown, 19, was last seen on July 4, 1974, in Rawlins, Wyoming. She and her friend, Christy Gross, also 19, attended the Little Britches Rodeo before disappearing. Their vehicle was later found abandoned, with conflicting reports about whether it was left at the fairgrounds or in Worland, Wyoming, over 200 miles away. Authorities initially thought the girls may have left on their own, but suspicion soon grew of foul play as time passed with no contact from them.
