Nan Cecile Dixon, a 73-year-old woman, disappeared on September 21, 1978, while traveling from her home in Grass Valley, California, to visit her brother in Seven Troughs, Nevada, near Lovelock. She had invested money in her brother's gold mining operation and was reportedly traveling to discuss the return of her $6,000 investment. She was last seen driving her yellow and green 1976 Datsun B210, but she never arrived at her destination, prompting her family to report her missing shortly after.
