The last time her family ever heard her voice was in a telephone call in April of 1994.
They believe she was in Las Vegas when she made that call, but the exact date and the details of their conversation remain unclear. This phone call would be the final contact her loved ones would ever have with her.
Following that last communication, a troubling development occurred when Mary's boyfriend returned to Kentucky without her. Concerned by her absence and lack of contact, Mary's family officially reported her missing to the Elsmere Police Department in Kentucky on July 9, 1994. Authorities in Kentucky interviewed her boyfriend, though the specifics of that interview have not been widely publicized. The years stretched on with no word from Mary, prompting her family to file an additional missing person's report, this time with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department on October 3, 2007, in the hope of revitalizing the investigation in the city where she was last believed to be.
The circumstances surrounding Mary's disappearance remain shrouded in mystery. At the time she went missing, she was described as a white female with brown hair and blue eyes, standing between 5 feet 2 inches and 5 feet 3 inches tall, and weighing approximately 98 to 108 pounds. Adding to the perplexing nature of the case, a vehicle associated with Mary was later discovered abandoned in a desert area in southeast Las Vegas.
