Andrea Joy Hall, 18, was last seen on July 8, 1979, hitchhiking along the Pacific Coast Highway in Redondo Beach, California. She was picked up by Lawrence Bittaker and Roy Norris, two notorious serial killers who later became known as the "Toolbox Killers." They lured Hall into their van by offering her a ride, then abducted and murdered her.

According to the killers' confessions, Hall was brutally assaulted before being murdered. Bittaker forced her to walk uphill in a remote area of the San Gabriel Mountains, where he tortured her using an ice pick before strangling her and disposing of her body off a cliff. Despite their confessions, Hall's body has never been recovered, and her remains are presumed to be lost in the mountainous terrain. The case is classified as a homicide based on the confessions of her killers, who were convicted for multiple murders during that summer of 1979.

Bittaker was sentenced to death but died in 2019 while on death row, and Norris received a life sentence, passing away in prison in 2020. Andrea's case remains one of many tragic instances of young women falling victim to these two serial killers.
