On a summer day in June of 1984, a 26-year-old man named Jerome Clements Charles told his father he was going for a walk from their residence on West 3rd Street in Eugene, Oregon, and would be back in a couple of hours. Jerome, a Native American male with black hair and brown eyes, was last seen wearing a tan and blue shirt with tan pants.
