John Anthony Perez, aged 38, was last seen on January 13, 1998, when he and a friend, Raul Diaz, embarked on a fishing trip from Miami to the Bahamas. The two were traveling on a 25-foot blue and white 1986 Offshore open fishing boat. They were accompanied by two other friends in a separate boat. During their journey, rough seas caused Perez and Diaz to lose contact with the second boat. Neither Perez nor Diaz were ever seen again, and their boat has never been found.
Despite searches, no sign of Perez or his friend has surfaced since that day. The circumstances surrounding their disappearance remain unclear, though rough sea conditions are believed to have played a significant role. Perez, a Hispanic male with brown hair and brown eyes, had distinctive marks on his face and chest. He remains classified as lost/injured missing, and authorities continue to investigate the case.
