Gary James Swanson, age 32, was last seen on May 22, 2003, in Aledo, Illinois. Swanson left behind a note and voicemail reassuring his family that he would be safe and they should not worry about him. His dog was later found tied up at a local convenience store. Two days after his disappearance, his vehicle was discovered abandoned and burned in Loraine, Illinois.
