In the coastal community of Winchester Bay, Oregon, the disappearance of 48-year-old Robert T. Breed II in the spring of 2012 left behind a collection of unsettling questions. A man known by his loved ones as Bobby or Bob, he was last seen on March 5th of that year. At the time he went missing, he was described as a white male with brown hair and blue eyes, standing between 5'11" and 6'2" and weighing around 195 pounds. A distinctive tattoo of a "CELTIC BULLDOG" was on his left shoulder. Originally from Lynn, Massachusetts, Robert had served in the Army for eighteen years before his disappearance and was living in Seattle, Washington. He was going through a challenging period in his life, including a difficult divorce. The circumstances surrounding Robert's disappearance grew more mysterious when his vehicle, a gray 2007 Ford Focus with Texas license plates, was discovered abandoned. Four days after he was last seen, on March 9, 2012, his car was found at the Umpqua Lighthouse in the 1000 block of Lighthouse Road. It wasn't until the vehicle was towed on March 16th that a significant and troubling clue came to light. Inside the car, resting on the passenger seat, was a document described as a "last will and testament". This discovery prompted an extensive search of the rugged Winchester Bay area, but no trace of Robert was found. Despite the concerning nature of the note found in his car, those close to Robert indicated that they had not seen any signs that he was suicidal. The discovery of his abandoned vehicle and the will within it created a perplexing and somber scene for investigators and his family. The official investigation into his disappearance was launched, handled by the Douglas County Sheriff's Office. The case of Robert Breed II is a poignant one, marked by the abruptness of his vanishing and the ambiguity of the evidence left behind. His case remains an unsolved missing person's case, a source of enduring pain and uncertainty for his family and friends who await answers.
