Brittney Nicole Wood, a 19-year-old mother from Mobile, Alabama, was last seen on May 31, 2012. She was reported to have left her home to visit her uncle, Donald Holland Sr., in the Styx River area. Her last known phone signal also came from that location. Two days after her disappearance, Holland was found dead from a gunshot wound, which was later ruled a suicide, though the circumstances of his death have been questioned. Investigators discovered that the gun he used belonged to Brittney.
