In the summer of 2012, the Brown family traveled from their home in Cartersville, Georgia, to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, for a vacation. This trip was a special occasion, as it was the first time Johnny Lamar Brown, a 43-year-old dependent adult, had ever been on vacation outside of his home state. On August 5th, while his family was at the Sea Crest hotel located in the 800 block of South Ocean Boulevard, Johnny walked away.
