On September 26, 2012, he was with his 82-year-old mother, making the final arrangements for his sister's funeral, which was scheduled for the following day. The next morning, on September 27th, Isaac had breakfast with his wife and son at their home in the 2800 block of Dover Street in Waukegan. This would be the last time his family would see him. After breakfast, he became unreachable, and to the profound shock and worry of his loved ones, he did not attend his sister's funeral.
The hours turned into days, and a deep sense of unease settled over the Danyus family. Isaac's disappearance was completely out of character. His clothes for the funeral were found laid out in his home, untouched. His high blood pressure and mild COPD medications were also left behind, a concerning sign for his family. An investigation into his disappearance revealed a checklist of errands he had planned for the day he went missing, but there was no activity on his bank accounts. The same day he was last seen, his 1999 gray Chevrolet Malibu was found and towed from a reserved parking space at an apartment complex near Washington Street and Greenleafe Avenue. This location was puzzling to his family, as their only connection to the complex was that their son had lived there two years prior. The car appeared to have been parked and left, as his cell phone and keys were not inside the vehicle.
