Dona Mae Bayerl, 38, disappeared on May 6, 1979, from her home in Muskego, Wisconsin. According to her husband, John Bayerl, the two had an argument, after which Dona left the house in the family car. Later that night, John claimed to have heard noises indicating she had returned, but the next morning, Dona was gone, and the car was found in the garage.
