Ruth Alice Jacobus, a 76-year-old woman, went missing on June 7, 1989, from her home in Pioneer, Amador County, California. She was last seen by her husband around noon that day. Ruth was wearing a blue dress with white ruffles and slippers at the time of her disappearance. It is believed that she may have wandered away from her home, which is located in an area with steep and rugged canyons.
Authorities conducted an extensive search using horses, dog teams, and helicopters, but no trace of Ruth was found. Investigators initially suspected that she may have either wandered into the difficult terrain surrounding her home or potentially hitchhiked out of the area. Despite the search efforts and continued investigation, no conclusive evidence regarding her whereabouts has been discovered, and her case remains unsolved to this day.
