In the summer of 1998, a sense of disquiet settled over the community of South Kona, Hawaii, with the disappearance of 36-year-old Michele Gloria Adam. On June 13, Michele was last seen at her residence in the Milolii Beach Lots. She reportedly told her husband, Richard Louis Adam, that she 'needed her space' before driving off in her 1997 Toyota Celica. At the time, she was employed as a clerk at the Kona Circuit Court.
