In the spring of 2003, a 23-year-old man named Cameron Michael Gray disappeared from Spangle, Washington, leaving behind a mystery that has endured for years. On April 9, 2003, Cameron went to his job as usual but did not return home. The following day, he was reported missing. In the early morning hours of April 10th, between midnight and 1:00 a.m., he sent several emails. The last known activity from him was a cell phone call made at 8:00 p.m. that evening. At the time he went missing, he was described as a white male with dark brown hair and blue eyes, standing at 5'10" and weighing between 160 and 170 pounds. He was believed to be wearing tan slacks and a light-colored stocking cap. The circumstances surrounding Cameron's disappearance were immediately concerning. He left behind notes that indicated he was contemplating suicide, which added a sense of urgency to the search. The day after he was last heard from, his vehicle, a maroon and red 1990 Lincoln Town Car, was discovered in a downtown Seattle loading zone. The car had run out of gasoline and was ticketed before being impounded eleven days later. A search of the vehicle and the surrounding area yielded no clues as to Cameron's whereabouts. There was no sign of him near the car, and no evidence was found inside it that could explain what had happened to him. In the weeks that followed, a potential lead emerged. On April 28th, employees at a homeless shelter in downtown Seattle reported seeing a man who matched Cameron's description, wearing the same type of clothing he was last seen in. However, this sighting could not be definitively confirmed. Another shelter also reported a possible sighting and took photographs of the individual, but when Cameron's family reviewed them, they confirmed it was not him. Over two decades have passed since Cameron Gray vanished. His case remains an unsolved missing persons investigation, leaving his family with unanswered questions. The Spokane County Sheriff's Office continues to have an open investigation into his disappearance.
