Rebecca May Savoie, aged 6, was abducted on August 11, 2009, from Franklin, Tennessee, by her non-custodial mother, Noriko Esaki Savoie. Rebecca, along with her older brother Isaac, was taken to Japan in violation of a U.S. custody agreement. Their parents, Christopher and Noriko, had divorced in the United States but remained legally married in Japan.
