Mindy Ochoa, a 7-year-old girl, went missing from Grover Beach, California, on July 12, 2010. She was last seen with her two older sisters, Briana and Tania, and it is believed they were abducted by their non-custodial mother, Mireya Graciano. Graciano, 30 at the time, is suspected of fleeing with her daughters after a felony warrant was issued for her arrest on July 14, 2010. Authorities suspected that the trio might have crossed the border to Tijuana, Mexico, making the search more difficult. Graciano, who is described as 5'2", with black hair and brown highlights, also has a tattoo on her chest of the initials "M&M".
The case remained unsolved for several years, with little progress in locating the missing girls. In 2019, Tania, the oldest of the three sisters, was located safely. Then, in April 2021, authorities were able to find both Mindy and Briana, finally reuniting all three sisters with safety after over a decade of being missing.
Despite the eventual resolution of the case, the abduction left a significant impact on the community, and for years, the uncertainty surrounding the whereabouts of the girls remained a distressing and unresolved mystery.
