Edward Garlinghouse, age 44, was last seen on February 9, 2013, at Palm Beach Shores, Florida. He and three other men entered the ocean to rescue two young girls who were caught in a rip current. While the girls were successfully brought back to shore, Garlinghouse was seen struggling in the water and did not make it back. Despite an extensive search by local authorities and the Coast Guard, Garlinghouse was never recovered and is presumed to have drowned.
