On August 23, 2013, a day that should have been marked by celebration, 51-year-old John W. Fitzgerald, Jr. of Needham, Massachusetts, disappeared in the waters off of Nantucket. He was aboard a private recreational fishing vessel when he is believed to have fallen overboard.
