Josephine Gerstner, a 76-year-old woman, went missing on September 1, 1983, from Mount Arlington, New Jersey. She had recently moved to the area to live with her son and husband. On the day of her disappearance, Josephine was reportedly seen hitchhiking near her home. Witnesses indicated that she seemed disoriented and may have been attempting to return to Irvington, New Jersey, where she previously lived.
