Gracie Nash, age 39, was last seen on December 26, 1983, after finishing her shift at the Eastfare Nursing Home in Austin, Texas, around 11:00 p.m. She was wearing a white nurse's uniform and a gray coat with a large fur collar. Nash never made it home that night, and two days later, her car, a green and white 1971 Chevrolet, was found abandoned near East 22nd Street in Austin.
Inside the car, police discovered large amounts of blood, indicating a violent assault, though Nash herself was missing.
Her disappearance occurred during a troubling period for her family. Just weeks before, her brother Melvin had been shot by his ex-girlfriend, Naomi Easley, who was out on bail at the time. Six weeks after Nash vanished, another brother, John Davis, was shot and killed outside his home. Though Easley was questioned, she was never charged in connection with Nash’s disappearance or Davis’s murder. She was, however, later convicted of the murder of her estranged husband in 1989.
Despite extensive investigations, Nash's case remains unsolved, and no trace of her has been found. The Austin Police Department continues to consider the case open, urging anyone with information to come forward.Last Seen: Dec 26, 1983
