Evelyn Joyce McDowell, age 21, was last seen on January 19, 1984, in front of the Yolo County Social Services office in Woodland, California. At the time of her disappearance, Evelyn was wearing blue denim jeans, a light-colored shirt, dark oxford shoes, and possibly a blue jacket. She also had a tattoo of a small blue heart on her left shoulder. Despite extensive searches and investigations, no trace of Evelyn has been found.
Several months before her disappearance, in November 1983, Evelyn made a distressing phone call to a friend from a bar in Napa, California, indicating that someone was "trying to get her." The phone call abruptly ended, and she was never heard from again. A few days later, Evelyn's family received her address book in the mail, which had been found on a beach in Lucerne, California. Despite multiple searches and follow-ups, including questioning potential persons of interest, none of the leads resulted in locating her.
