Ronald George Levin, a 42-year-old man from Beverly Hills, California, was last seen on June 6, 1984. Levin, who had a reputation as a con artist, became entangled with the infamous Billionaire Boys Club (BBC), a social and investment group that was later revealed to be involved in criminal activities. Joe Hunt, the leader of the BBC, was convicted of Levin's murder, although Levin's body has never been found.
According to court testimony, Hunt planned to kidnap Levin and force him to sign over assets before killing him. On the day of Levin's disappearance, Hunt, along with another BBC member, Jim Pittman, allegedly handcuffed and shot Levin. They then disposed of his body in Soledad Canyon, attempting to make it unrecognizable by firing multiple shots. In a bid to make it appear as though Levin had fled voluntarily, another BBC member used Levin's credit cards in New York, but this led to an arrest.
Despite Hunt's defense claiming that Levin faked his own death, he was convicted of murder in 1987. The motive for the killing was reportedly related to Levin swindling Hunt out of $4 million. Levin's remains have never been recovered, and the case remains a significant unsolved mystery. Hunt continues to maintain his innocence, though foul play is widely accepted due to the circumstances surrounding Levin's disappearance.
