Vivian Barrett, a 63-year-old woman, was last seen on January 3, 1989, in Sarasota, Florida. She had been traveling across the country on a 1986 Honda motor scooter, living off her Social Security benefits. By late 1988, she had made her way to Sarasota, where she alternated between staying in state parks and camping in the woods when funds were low.
