On a day in early December 1998, 45-year-old Kari Lind informed her husband of her plans for the day: she was going shopping and then for a walk at Catalina State Park in Catalina, Arizona. This was the last time she was seen. At the time of her disappearance, Lind was described as a white female with blonde hair and blue eyes, standing at 5'6' and weighing approximately 125 pounds.
