Anthony Robustelli, a 50-year-old man, vanished from Islip, New York, around September 1, 2013. His disappearance, however, was not officially reported to the Suffolk County Police Department until May 29, 2014. Concerns arose when neighbors realized that Anthony and his sister, who lived together, had not been seen for approximately six months. This prompted a call to Adult Protective Services, leading to a welfare check at their residence. What authorities discovered upon entering the home was a scene of profound neglect; the house was reportedly filled with garbage, clothing, and human waste, and lacked basic utilities such as running water, heat, or electricity. Anthony's sister was found in the home and taken to a hospital for evaluation, but there was no sign of Anthony. The conditions within the house led to its condemnation by authorities. Described as a recluse, Anthony was known to suffer from bipolar disorder. His physical description at the time of his disappearance was a white male, standing at 5-foot-11 and weighing around 170 pounds, with long gray hair, a long beard, and brown eyes. One distinctive physical feature noted was that he did not trim his toenails, which made him prone to infections. The investigation into Anthony's whereabouts was launched following the discovery at his home. The Suffolk County Police Department issued a Silver Alert, a program designed to publicize information about missing individuals with special needs. Despite this, details about his last known activities or potential destinations have remained scarce. He was known by the nickname "Tony." The circumstances surrounding his disappearance are deeply concerning, given his reclusive nature and the challenging living conditions he endured. The lack of significant leads has left his case unsolved for years, and his family and community without answers.
