Ashley Elaine Morris-Mullis, a 27-year-old mother of three, was last seen on September 19, 2013, after attending a family reunion in Royerton, Indiana. Prior to her disappearance, Ashley had separated from her husband and was involved in a relationship with Daniel York Sr., a married man. Ashley had recently given birth to a daughter, believed to be Daniel's child, and his name was listed on the baby’s birth certificate.
After failing to contact her, Ashley’s family grew concerned and visited her home, only to find it locked and deserted. Although Daniel York claimed Ashley had left for Virginia with a large sum of money, leaving her baby in his care, her family reported her missing. Suspicion around Ashley’s disappearance intensified, particularly as York had a checkered past, including being a person of interest in a 2010 murder case. York died in 2015, and his wife Sheila moved to Florida, taking Ashley’s daughter with her.
