William Herbert Pear, aged 42, was last seen on August 6, 1985, leaving his job as a chef at the Great American Fish Company in Morro Bay, California. On the day of his disappearance, Pear mentioned he was traveling to Long Beach with someone and expected to return the following day. However, he never returned, and no one has heard from him since.
