Nevayaktewa was last seen near Pumpkin Seed Hill in the village of Kykotsmovi on the Hopi Indian Reservation in Arizona on June 19, 2008. He disappeared after going to a gathering and has never been heard from again.
At the time of his disappearance, Nevayaktewa was on a summer visit to the reservation, where his father lived; his usual home was in New Mexico with his mother. His case remains unsolved.
